Quick site update today to let you know that 1917 has now been confirmed on Ultra HD Blu-ray with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
I also made some updates to the lists including entries for the standalone Star Wars movies as they will have a separate release from the Skywalker Saga boxset.
One last update before Christmas and the New Year of the sites lists.
The most important news is of course that the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on Ultra HD Blu-ray on March 31 with Dolby Atmos for all nine movies.
On that, I wish you great Holidays and a happy new year!
Just a quick update to let you know that I’ve update the site lists with a ton of updates, including an official date for Solo: A Star Wars Story (September 25).
A lot of catalog titles have been included for UHD releases: the first three Fast and the Furious movies, the first three X-Men movies, The Big Lebowski, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Panic Room and Philadelphia.
A lot of them are in DTS:X by the way, Universal is saving the format on its own right now.
Also please note that 2001: A Space Odyssey is now dated for release on October 30th.
Sorry for the delay between updates as I had to travel for work.
Big site update today with first and foremost the confirmation that Ready: Player One will have both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos when it comes out on July 24 on Ultra HD Blu-ray.
Rampage will also see light of day with both Dolby formats, but no confirmed date yet.
A lot of sites are reporting that Clear and Present Danger, The Hunt for Red October and The Sum of All Fears are coming on 4K Blu-ray, so I added those to the lists. The same goes for the initial Predator trilogy with Predator, Predator 2 and Predators.
I finally listed Solo and Deadpool 2 to the upcoming Atmos 4K discs, as those are pretty much sure.
It’s now official, Star Wars: The Last Jedia is coming on March 27 in both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision on its Ultra HD Blu-ray release.
This will be the first release with Dolby Vision for Disney on disc, hopefully one of many to come.
A couple of quick updates in this beginning of the week.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing (February 27) and Downsizing (March 20) now both have a release dates on Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray, sadly none of them will include object-based audio.
Speaking about release dates, it seems Bestbuy are announcing a release date of March 27 for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. More to come later, I imagine we’ll see the official announcement this week.
Finally, it seems that 2001: A Space Odyssey is coming to 4K Blu-ray, again more to come when it’s official.
Treat this still as a rumour, but at the same time it’s not really surprising. Initial informations to retailers seem to confirm that The Last Jedi will be released this Spring on Ultra HD Blu-ray with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack.
No word yet on an official date or if there’s any change on also getting The Force Awakens and Rogue One on the format, but it’s a huge news for the industry.
Please note I also updated the lists with some Atmos and Dolby Vision information including:
- Coco coming to UHD with Dolby Atmos too
- Daddy’s Home (DTS:X) & Daddy’s Home 2 (Atmos) UHDs with Dolby Vision
- Murder on the Orient Express UHD with Atmos now has a February 27 date
